It was the night before vacation

Well, here we are, less than 24 hours until our flight. Ron is officially on vacation, is all packed and has all the correspondence and travel confirmations organized and filed away in his backpack I am finishing up my packing and trying very hard to squeeze it all into my carry-on suitcase. I will triumph, or what I can't fit will stay behind!! The weather here is so beautiful right now. The evenings have been quiet and peaceful and warm. It seems a shame to leave it for temps in the low to mid sixties!! And then there is the war that Russia seems to want to start. I have wanted to go to St. Petersburg for so long, it would be awful if we weren't allowed into the country because of the tensions this is causing with the U.S. Even these things though, and the anticipation of a long uncomfortable flight, can't dampen my excitement and enthusiasm about all we will see. I feel like I did on Christmas Eves long ago when I was small.

At my parents home in Marin County, the house is abuzz with preparations. They leave at 1:30 tomorrow and we will meet up on Wednesday morning to explore London together. They are as excited as we are and I am happy that they are able to make the trip with us.

When I write again, we will more than likely be on the ship, unless our hotel has an internet cafe. Please pray for us, for our flights, that all will go well and we will stay healthy.
